It was the Book Week and on Tuesday 20 August, I had the joy of hosting an immersive book reading experience with students from Foundation to Grade 2 at Al Siraat College, launching my latest publication called “The Big Aqiqah Party”.

The book reading session with the author was an immersive and engaging experience for our enthusiastic young readers, with some budding writers also in the audience.

The idea for this book was originally inspired by Ms Elif Boz, who was struggling to find books about different Islamic celebrations for her primary school students.

Ms Elif suggested I write a story about the Islamic Aqiqah ceremony, which Muslim families have after a baby is born.

The main character in the book is a Muslim girl named Aysha who experiences a wonderful journey as she waits for the arrival of her new sibling.

From the excitement of preparing for the joyous Aqiqah celebration, filled with family traditions and delicious cultural foods, Aysha learns valuable lessons about gratitude, giving charity and the importance of family.

The book also teaches young readers about the various parts involved in the Aqiqah ceremony in a fun and engaging way.

This delightful story celebrates culture, faith, and the joy of new beginnings. Perfect for young readers and families, “The Big Aqiqah Party” is a charming journey that will warm hearts and inspire young minds.

The Big Aqiqah Party is now available online at Amazon.com
