Failure of leading Western nations to denounce what experts confirm is ‘genocide’ occurring in Gaza (20,000 killed to-date) perpetrated by Israel, threatens Western civilization itself. It indicates geopolitical considerations outweigh human lives and fundamental values. Even worse is the evil hypocrisy of President Biden, in calling Israel to minimize civilian casualties while rushing bunker-busting bombs, thereby promoting massacres. IDF General Yitzhak emphasizes: “The minute [the US] turns off the [munitions] tap, you can’t keep fighting.”

Depraved Israeli authorities told Gazans to flee for their life to southern zones; then bombed places where Gazans were directed.

The 1948 Rome Statute asserts: ‘Genocide’ is any of the following directed against a civilian population: a) killing members b) causing serious bodily/mental harm c) deliberately inflicting conditions of life likely to cause physical destruction [denying food, water, medical care].

With statements of intent for Palestinians’ destruction from leaders, Israel is conducting genocide clear to see.

Only Catholic EU nations – Ireland, Spain, Belgium – responded calling for ceasefire.

Our Government must ensure no Australian support for genocide NOR naval support for a Red Sea force to allow Israel’s shipping resupply of deadly weaponry.

Heywood-Smith, KC, asks, “Why hasn’t Australia joined [South Africa and others in referrals to the International Criminal Court] or demanded Prosecutors issue arrest warrants against Israeli leaders? Why hasn’t Australia as a contracting party to the Genocide Convention sought a ruling regarding responsibility of Israel from the International Court of Justice? … Why hasn’t Australia taken action to stop settlements? … And why is Australia beholden to Israel?”

Western civilization prides itself on Enlightenment values: political liberty, freedom of thought/expression, human rights, rule of law. Israel’s crimes supported by the West shatter these principles.

Serial Australian governments ignored expanding illegal settlements, knowing this would sabotage peaceful solutions (ie Palestinian state).

Israel hasn’t complied with UN Resolution 2334, in not ceasing settlement activities, nor refraining from ‘provocative actions,’ (invading Al-Aqsa Mosque).

“There is strong argument that Israel, through  flagrant breaches of UN resolutions and international law, is responsible for what happened on October 7.” (Heywood-Smith)

“Consistent failure … to curb PM Netanyahu’s excesses – worsening discrimination against Palestinians, toleration of settler violence … testifies not to Washington’s restraint, but its weakness. … the liberal vision of a US-led ‘rules-based international order’ suffered devastating setback. … few believe this order possesses moral legitimacy or political credibility.  (Bobo Lo)

Unacceptable is weaponizing anti-Semitism against free speech. The UK adopted the IHRA definition, which doesn’t distinguish anti-Semitism from anti-Zionism.

Dark clouds hover over Australian universities, with Melbourne and Monash accepting this definition, thereby relegating themselves to second-rate status, since scholasticism necessitates freedom to research without bias.

It’s surely time for Australia to denounce the AUKUS Alliance since the US and Britain, seemingly ‘lost their marbles’ in supporting genocide, so are unsuitable partners.

Do recall that AUKUS was set-up by Scott Morrison, arguably Australia’s worst PM, while keeping cabinet ministers in the dark.

Are you surprised that the US and UK are now under zionist control, both government and major opposition parties?

This will become clearer if Israel thumbs its nose at benefactors’ calls for restraint and continues murdering Palestinians.

Palestine’s lesson is that zionists will remove whomever stands in their way, even an ally; witness the USS Liberty Incident when 34 crew were killed.

Australian, Canadian, NZ Prime Ministers supported efforts towards a ceasefire in their letter.

It contains though questionable statements. They accept as fact Israeli propaganda of “heinous [Hamas] acts, including sexual violence” that are un-verified by independent analysts.

It states: “We support Palestinians’ right to self-determination” but you never recognised a Palestinian state!

Concluding, “Hamas can be demobilized through diplomacy…  Israel and the US need finally abide by international law, accept a sovereign Palestinian state alongside Israel … The diplomatic route is open because Arab/Islamic countries (including Iran) … reiterated their long-standing desire for peace with Israel as part of an agreement establishing Palestine … and its capital in East Jerusalem.” (Sachs)
