Al-Mawrid Australia is hosting a meet and greet event in Sydney with Javed Ahmed Ghamidi at the Parra Villa Function Lounge on Friday 29 September at 6:30 pm followed by a 3-day workshop from Sat 30 September to Mon 2 October 2023 at the Mercure Hotel in Liverpool.
The Farahi school of thought emphasizes the significance of comprehending the Qur’an through its linguistic structure and the coherence of the message suggesting that relying solely on the traditions relating to the revelation to understand the Qur’an are not only unnecessary but also hinder in getting to the true meaning.
They argue that the rearrangement of the Qur’an instead of leaving it in its original order of revelation was for a reason. Therefore, the importance of this order cannot be ignored in understanding the Qur’an.
This does not imply dismissing the historical context of the Qur’an’s revelations. As with any book rooted in history, comprehending the historical context is essential to capture its narrative. For instance, when the Qur’an alludes to an event, having knowledge about it is vital for a full understanding of the Qur’an’s message.
Javed Ahmed Ghamidi has provided annotations for a translation of the Qur’an known as Al-Bayan. This translation is one of its kind due to Ghamidi’s extensive knowledge of classical Arabic and the Qur’an. There are no other translations like it available in the Qur’anic literature.
Al-Bayan draws inspiration from the teachings of Imam Hamid Uddin Farahi and Imam Amin Ahsan Islahi, and Ghamidi has added his own distinctive contributions to Islamic thought.

Al-Bayan aids the reader to understand the subject matter of the Qur’an. Essentially, the subject matter consists of propositions that a human being must believe in, and an approach to meet the requirements of those beliefs. These are key in determining one’s success in the afterlife.
The Qur’an is a narrative of a messenger’s warning about the consequences of accepting and rejecting the truth. It presents its arguments through psychological, natural, and historical evidence, expecting humans to embrace its proposed beliefs.
It cautions against the repercussions of rejecting these beliefs and celebrates their acceptance. However, while the Qur’an references physical laws to explain these facts, it does not center on the discoveries of physics, either present or future.
According to Ghamidi, throughout Muslim history, there has been a common misunderstanding of the authentic message of the Qur’an, resulting in a failure to grasp its true message.
Consequently, external beliefs have been imposed upon the Qur’an, asserting that, as a divine book, it should govern all aspects of human life. This has led to the perception of Greek philosophy within its verses and endeavors to extract scientific knowledge from its text.

I think it is time that violence against children should be discussed among Muslims. If Islam really is a peaceful religion, Muslim countries must show the world that they consequently ban child corporal punishment, like most of the secular states have done already (see Wikipedia page “Child corporal punishment laws”). The high level of violence against children in the MENA region (see UNICF data and reports) seems to have a large impact on mental health of the population (Sultan Califi). And it is the SDG 16.2. of the Agenda 2030 .. https://sites.google.com/view/islamic-parenting .
