The bravest is one of the smallest,
the willy wagtail; I saw one in pursuit
of a snake across a yard;
it twittered around its head very hard,
until the snake, alarmed, departed.
The most social bird is the currawong,
they gather in a tree for a song,
first a combined chortle
then a long, sly whistle,
followed by a foolish giggle.
They love their song, our currawongs.
