“Come, my friends,
`tis not too late to seek a newer world.” Tennyson

The blaze of pink flowers with its commonwealth of bees
is more magnificent than ordinary reality;
the usual world is not like this
dramatic, splendid, disclosure.
Ordinary, familiar scenes become congenial,
but something new may scatter pearls
among the grass of our common days.
Then we are lifted up like a boat on a wave
to a shore where there are drummers and singers inter-woven;
their songs have the rhythm of the surf,
rising and falling in endless triumph.
