On Sunday 23 September the annual Twins of Faith Conference in Sydney will be held at The Bryan Brown Theatre in Bankstown. In its 6th year, the conference will showcase both local and international speakers, performers, and artists, who will be coming together to inspire the local Muslim community in bringing about positive change using the Quran and Sunnah.
The two twins of faith pillars are “knowledge” and “action”, which are at the heart of the conferences foundation. These concepts are promoted together so attendees can gain Islamic knowledge and also understand ways to implement it into their daily lives.
The conference features inspiring lectures, workshops, nasheeds, spoken word performances, mothers space, children’s activities, Halal food, shopping and stalls for Muslim businesses.
The theme this year is “Legacy: will you be missed”, concentrating on ayah 12 of Surah Yaseen:
“Indeed, it is We who bring the dead to life and record what they have put forth and what they left behind, and all things We have enumerated in a clear register.”
The conference is expected to attract over 300 attendees this year with currently just under a 100 tickets left to be sold. The program starts at 10am and concludes at 8pm. Tickets are $25 with kids under 12 free to enter.
The Bazaar area will be in the neighbouring Paul Keating park open to the public. It will be a great day out for families and friends who can enjoy each others company, while at the same time learning about the Deen in a positive atmosphere and setting.
