Top Tweets #AhedTamimi

Finally! #AhedTamimi is free after 9 months for slapping an #Israeli occupation soldier. Here’s what was behind the slap: her cousin Mohammed had just been shot in the head. She never should have been imprisoned. She’s a #Palestinian heroine. https://t.co/Ng0wInvANY

Ahed Tamimi is free. Thousands of Palestinians including kids and women remain in brutal Israeli prisons. #AhedTamimi pic.twitter.com/LZFdcSaIhn

This is the moment #AhedTamimi walked free. It’s a huge relief, but we won’t stop campaigning for the release of the hundreds of Palestinian children prosecuted by the Israeli army in military courts every year. pic.twitter.com/7vcb8pmFtO

Tears and joy as, her spirit unbroken, young Palestinian hero #AhedTamimi was this morning released from eight months in the occupation’s prisons, finally reunited with her family & her people. Her mother Nariman was released alongside her, where they were greeted by supporters. pic.twitter.com/H6r00YZCY8

#AhedTamimi was just set free, following her wrongful imprisonment in the Israeli-occupied #WestBank. We remain outraged by the injustice of her imprisonment and the fact many #Palestinian children are still in Israeli jails, many without committing any recognizable crimes. pic.twitter.com/DnqQhUT2nd

What a beautiful moment when you get your freedom after being a prisoner!

“Women are a key part of the Palestinian struggle for freedom, and the women’s role will continue to expand, not only in the struggle but by producing new generations that can continue the struggle. We say: ‘Leave, leave occupation!’” #AhedTamimi pic.twitter.com/n07FMs111B

    — Jaclynn Ashly (@jaclynnashly) July 29, 2018

As #AhedTamimi is released from jail we should remember that all occupied people have the right to resist their occupation under international law. Hundreds of Palestinian children remain behind bars today with many not treated in accordance with international law.
